Proper Care and Nutrition
We believe that you are what you eat, so it is very important to feed your sheepadoodle puppy a high quality food so that it grows into a strong adult dog! It is important to pick a food high in animal protein and low in fillers. Naturally dogs are supposed to eat 40 percent meat, 30 percent vegetables and 30 percent starch, so keep this in mind when picking a food.
We feed our puppies & puppy parents Fromm Gold Large Breed Puppy Dry Food
Give that developing puppy everything he needs to grow into his big, playful body. Gold Holistic Large Breed Puppy Dry Dog Food from Fromm includes DHA-rich salmon oil to aid his cognitive development, and the duck, chicken, and lamb-based kibble contains taurine to build a healthy heart and eyes and calcium-rich alfalfa that supports growing bones.

We also use Vital Essentials Raw Nuggets as treats for our pups. Dogs are natural carnivores and require real raw meat and whole, natural, minimally processed foods. So raw is a great way to turn! (Just make sure that it is from a specialty company like Vital Essentials – do not give them just any “raw” meat as it contains harmful bacteria.)
Our pups also love… bananas, blueberries, broccoli, and carrots! These are our dog’s particular favorites, but most dogs love fruits and vegetables, and they make a much healthier treat then traditional biscuits.
It may surprise you, but your dog can also safely eat:
- Strawberries
- Apples (Fruit only; the seeds contain toxins.)
- Kiwi
- Blackberries
- Raspberries
- Pumpkin
- Green Beans
- Cucumber
- Zucchini
- Cabbage
- Celery
- Parsley
- Kale
- Squash
- Asparagus
- Spinach
- Potatos & Yams (Only when cooked.)
